As I currently gaze out my apartment window I am witnessing dreary grey clouds through the frosted window glass. Knowing that I will shortly be walking to class in this weather I immediately wish to fast forward to April when I can bask under the warm sunshine. Due to the reality of the cool weather continuing in the next months, I have, instead, decided to brighten up my day through incorporating spring 2012's trend of bright and bold colors into my wardrobe. It is comforting to know that with the winter months blistering outside, spring has definitely sprung in fashion! The runways and stores have become entrenched with yellow neons, bright pinks and oranges, alongside bold greens and blues. Designers, such as Proenza Schouler, BCBG Max Azria, Derek Lam, and Dolce and Gabbana, have graced the runways with designs containing both hints of brights and pieces of full on bold color. One of my favorite aspects to this trend includes the easiness of incorporating color blocking into my outfits using a pop of neon.

When ready to take the plunge and dive straight into bright fashion I suggest scoping out the brights at Madewell, J Crew, and Anthropologie. They each contained very bold and bright pieces including bright orange jackets, neon yellow socks, multi colored statement necklaces, and numerous pairs of bold colored pants.

If you wish to incorporate color into your daily wardrobe but are not ready to rock the bold brights seen in Madewell, J Crew, and Anthropologie, Zare would be a perfect choice! Zara contained many colorful items, however; the color's did not resemble as bold of a color choice as the neons found in the previous three shops.

As of today I vote that we all say goodbye to the winter days of bland shades and, instead, bring life into our wardrobes through welcoming spring brights!
