WASHINGTON, DC, January 24, 2012 — Hip-Hop mogul Rick Ross,  one of the most consistent hit-makers in the music business, and ranked among Forbes’ list of hip-hop top earners, continues to keep stages across the country hot. The Island Def Jam artist and Founder of  the Maybach Music Group empire, will take center stage as the headline act for one of  the  most  anticipated concerts in DC. Presented by SFI Live LLC,  the show will take place on  Thursday, February 23, 2012  at DAR  Constitution Hall. Also featured on the show is Island Def Jam label-mate and R&B singer, Jeremiah.

Rick Ross’ musical skills, prolific lyricism, smart songwriting and ear for beats,  has Ross revered as one of the finest on the music scene. With the release of his highly anticipated upcoming fifth solo album,  God Forgives…I Don’t, (includes a song collaboration with ( Nicki Minaj), and new  mixtape, “Rich Forever” http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T9345OHI ,Ross remains focused on continuing his streak of hit records. “I’m excited to see the response tothis album – I expect it to be bigger than my previous  one,” expressed Ross in a previous Rolling Stone interview.

Ross has shown musical skills far beyond most of his peers. In 2010, his critically acclaimed album, Teflon Don was ranked as The Best Album of the Year by a New York Times music critic.  Ross, whose collaborations on tracks include high profile cameos with Drake, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, openly pays homage to MC’s like EPMD, Ice  Cube, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim and Cool G as the pioneers who has influenced him in music. Other accolades include Source Magazine’s Man of the Year, 3 #1 albums, over 4 million digital tracks and more

    than 6 million ringtones sold.

The savvy businessman recently signed DC rapper Wale into the fold of his MMG collective. The Maybach rapper, and former MC for the MTV Video Awards has had a phenomenal mixtape run which included 100 Miles and Running, The Mixtape About Nothing, Back To The Feature, and a  sure-shot debut single, “Chillin’,” which featured pop icon Lady Gaga. Wale was recently named Source  Magazine’s 2011 Comeback  Artist of the Year,  for the success of his sophomore album, Ambition.

The February 23rd performance will also feature the talent of Island Def Jam R&B singer  Jeremih, who scored big on the scene with his self-titled album and debut single, “Birthday Sex.” The Chicago music aficionado, who has collaborated on songs with 50 Cents and Ludacris, is a self-taught musician who plays saxophone, bass drum, cymbals, quan, several percussion instruments and piano.

The concert is expected to play to a full house. Tickets available online at BIRTHDAYTICKETS.COM
